6 mile CB range, 2ft antenna and a JK.

This is what I (and a friend) did to get 6 miles out of my CB setup with a 2ft Firestik2 antenna. Tested distance verified with Google Earth.
Bond... bond... bond. We used 1.5" Tin coated copper braided ground strap off a spool. Cut to length for each bonding location. Soldered the ends solid using 60/40 lead solder. Punched holes in the newly soldered ends using a Unibit (step bit). Bolted all the straps down using electrical grade star washers, on both sides of the fastener, to ensure good contact with the metal surface.

Bonded the hood to the firewall at the drivers side hood hinge. Then bonded the body to the frame at all 4 corners.

Pics.

Sorry for the double, I retyped the post because IE said it wasn't responding and I didn't think it actually posted the topic. Mods can lock/delete this one.

great idea, the tire mount location is terrible, Feel like I wasted my time running the cable to that location.
