Question Alpine Stereo Help

Looking for some help where I installed an Alpine PSS-21WRA in to a 2015 JKU with a base factory head unit (like this, no u-connect) about 8 months ago and it has worked great, then all of a sudden the bass stopped working. When it stopped working all the bass when to the 2-way 6.5" speakers.

I called Alpine and it is under warranty and they said it sounded like the subwoofer blew and I had to replace it. They sent me an entire new system (all parts). I replaced the subwoofer, but same problem. I then replaced the amp and then the wiring to the head unit. Still nothing. I get no sound out of the subwoofer.

Any thoughts on what it could be? Is it possible the head unit is the issue and not the Alpine speaker system? I'm at a loss and could use some help on what else to troubleshoot.

An additional detail on that system:
There is a subwoofer wiring configuration that uses a "factory OEM stereo bypass". This is how the system has been configured and it has been working for 8 months and now suddenly doesn't. There is another "after market" wiring config that uses AV cables to the subwoofer instead of the by-pass. Using this aftermarket config, I can confirm that the subwoofer, amp and wiring is connected and does actually work (I just can't leave it configured like this because the sound is completely garbled). (manual explaining this)

Trying to troubleshoot I found that if I unplug the front speakers from behind the head unit then the subwoofer starts working again. would this indicate a head unit problem or a wiring problem in the front speakers?

I'm inclined to think it's your wiring. Based on the fact that the bass comes and goes to the 6.5s, dependent on the subwoofer operational status.

I'm afraid I don't know much about this system so I can only give general advice. Retrace your steps and make sure the wiring to the amp is correct. Then trace to each speaker individually. If there are crossover settings on the amp make sure the right frequencies are going to each speaker.
