Amplifier recommendation

Now that I have my polks installed in the dash and soundbar, im ready to install an amp and a JL Audio 8w3 in the stock sub enclosure. The JL has a power requirement of max 250 watts RMS. im looking for an amp that will fit the small storage bin under the rear cargo area. (2012 JKUR) I measured it as about 8 1/2 inches wide. Trying to get a 250 x 1 rms amp preferably a class D so it will run cooler in that enclosed area. Ive got my eye on a Kicker dx500 because it looks like it will fit and it has speaker level inputs and speaker signal turn on so I wouldnt need to run a turn on wire but I wanted to see if anybody else had any recommendations for any other amps that fit that storage bin. Thanks!

Dave

The 8w3 is a 4ohm sub. No particular budget, just looking for something that fits that rear cargo area.

How about the P1000X1D.It is a little much but fits where you are trying to mount it.

I am trying to find a slim Punch for my dash and pod speakers but may just get the Punch PBR300X4 to make due until then. I just ordered the DB series for all 4. 521 front and 651 pods.

Jma20a......its a single coil sub.

KrzyMoke......nice amp but at this point im only looking for a single channel amp in the 250 watt rms range. That Rockford would toast that little sub with 500 watts, lol!!!

just don't turn the gain too high when you tune the amp, it would also stay cool not running at its full rate.

I've got that same sub in the small jl enclosure. I'm running a jl 700/5 which powers my soundbar, fronts, and sub. I've been really happy with it

You are in luck. They make a single channel at 300. So adj the gain and your set. Plus it is only 160
