Auxilery sound bar

When I bought my first sound bar I almost got a sound bar that you simply plug an aux input into, no radio needed. I did not go that way. My radio is fried, sold my bar and now want some music without lugging around my stereo box I made. Only problem is I cannot seem to find the bar with aux input anymore. Anyone seen these before?

Well my head unit keeps getting fried and have not been able to find where water is getting on. It takes about 6 months before the radio fries but I can't keep replacing them every 6 months. Would be a lot more convenient. Is there maybe a way to wire in an aux input into the sound bar instead to the radio?

I just saw a few different sound bars on Ebay that advertise Aux. and Ipod input. They are slightly more money than the others, but its out there.

You could always just get a standard soundbar with speakers and then get a mini 2-channel amp to install inside the soundbar, like this one. You would just need to run 12 volts, ignition and ground up to the sound bar, and the amp has a 3.5mm audio jack for an input, so just run a male/male 3.5mm cable to wherever you plan to keep your iPod or music player. The power wires won't have to be very heavy gauge, the amp doesn't draw much power.

Could also look into moving head unit inside console or somewhere "drier"...there are kits for this......

I have other stuff in my glove compartment. Would love a tuffy box but not shelling out that much money I made a box of wood with speakers and a radio plugs into the cigarette lighter. Just a pain to have that sitting around in the jeep. I have been looking into a small 2 channel amp and a 3.5mm to RCA.

The mini amp would have my vote, I've installed countless systems like this on motorcycles; some of them even come with a little volume control piece that you can mount somewhere convenient.
