Can 430N Garmin Nav firmware be updated or replaced?

I have a Mygig 430N model RHB with Garmin Nav. This units Garmin Nav firmware seems pretty primitive. I'm always having to zoom in manually.

I have another Garmin Nuvi unit that seems to have much more robust firmware.

Can the 430N firmware be updated or replaced? I'm talking operating system firmware vs map data.

The users manual is worthless. There's only 2 pages that discuss 430N Nav and it's just the basic stuff.
