To me, it's real hard to beat either a Uniden like a Pro510XL or Pro520XL (as I use) or a Midland. I'm no longer a fan of Cobra's CB radios like I used to be, I personally don't believe they are as reliable as they used to be. My Pro520XL has been in use in my TJ for 11-12 years and has been covered in dust/dirt most of those years without problem.

If this is for a Wrangler, would not go for the Cobra 75WXT which has its speaker inside the microphone. Its speaker is SO tiny that its very hard to hear in a noisy Wrangler and you end up having to install an external speaker to make it easier to hear.

The below is how I mounted my Firestick FS-2 antenna (FS-2, FS-3, FS-4 antennas are all good choces, the number is hall tall it is in feet) but you may find it easier to use Tera's (TeraFlex • Jeep Suspensions, Body Protection, Low Range Gearing and HD Axles) rear corner mount that goes underneath the tail light. Just make sure to grind the paint away between the tub & mount so the antenna will work.

Most of our truck drivers are using the cobras, and also stopping by the cb shack every other month to have them fixed. We put unidens in the escort trucks and foreman trucks and these units get transfered to new vehicles regularly,at 40$ a pop you can't go wrong with how well they hold up.

I went with the Cobra 29 LTD BT due to the fact that my Jeep is a DD and it as Bluetooth for my cellphone. It has done well for me over the past year. I mounted to the rollbar via zipties, which puts it behide me a bit, but I haven't hit my head yet.

Here's my CB mounted inside the cab. I'll have to take a pic of my antenna when I get back to town. (Jeep is at my house and I'm in my truck.)

Hard to beat this deal here and it comes with the swr meter and your choice of antenna mounts. Fast delivery to your door too. Uniden Pro510XL Off-Road CB Package - $109.00

And it's Stu Olson recommended!

I run a 4 foot firestick on a teraflex driverside mount. I didn't have to do any sanding on the bracket or tub. I bolted it up and put the 4th bolt into the tub and it works PERFECTLY . To the cb I have a obra 29ltd a older version and it is solid. IT is way big tho. I don't recommend it if your buying one. I got this for free so I made it work. I can go out and get pics if you want them.
