CB, External Loud Speaker

I want to run a small CB set-up for use on the trails, so its not going to be a super nice rig. Just a small Cobra, and a 2' Firestik. Also though because I'm the life of my family parties and the fam loves my jeep. I want an external speaker under the hood for tailgating (having a good time etc. etc.) Can I run those two things through the same radio So i only have to have the one mic unit.

Thanks for the help.

I could be wrong but I am looking to do the same thing. Most CBs have a PA output for such a thing but from my understanding, you shouldn't expect it to be super loud since it would only be powered by the CB radio and there are regulations that limit the max power of CB radios. (I wanna say something around 5 watts) I'm sure someone that knows more will chime in though.

So what would I need to add to power to the external speaker? Could I splice the power to go to the battery? I hate wiring and electronics but yet I went to school for 2 years on Auto Tech. But electronics was my worst area

Suspension and Drive-train is my speciality!

Does your radio have a PA setting and an external speaker jack?

If so, the 20 dollar solution resides at radio shack. I mounted a speaker in the front right wheel well (well out of harms way) and just ran the wire up into the engine bay, back thru the firewall and plugged it into the radio.

I'm not gonna convince any crack heads that the cops are here and you are surrounded with it, but for yelling at my spotter, it's perfect.
