Crap - another newb question

K - I'm installing the cb and running power to the battery. I'm going to ground to the battery. Do I need to disconnect the battery (negative off then positive) to attach the positive terminal or can I just attach straight to the battery? I've watched a couple videos and they attach straight to the battery without taking off the negative. What should I do?

The book answer? Disconnect the neg terminal, attach your pos line, then hook up your neg cb lead to the neg terminal, then reconnect the neg terminal to the batt.

Unhooking the neg breaks the circuit, no need to disconnect both.

All good, and besides cars only have 12v. It takes over 26v to cause harm.
