Dead battery help!

Woke up to a dead battery this morning... I just installed my CB straight to my battery a couple days ago. Could that have drained the battery even though it was off?? I also have amplifier cables hooked up but not to a amplifier (it was stolen).

My CB has been wired to my battery for months now without issue. Was your CB grounded properly? What was it grounded to? Go ahead and remove your amp cables if there is no amp. It is a bad idea to leave it on. That's a recipe for quite a shock or fire. How old is the battery/Jeep?

It prolly wasn't grounded very well. I put it on a painted belt. I thought it would affect the performance not battery. Ill move it to the ground to the terminal on the battery...

The battery is like 6 months old.

Would that affect battery use though?

After reading more a bad ground cannot drain a battery.

I extended the harness wire to the driver side footwell where your left foot is. There are two factory grounds there that are simple to ground to. Either or you should be ok!

Would it be best to wire it to the ground on the battery? Anyone know?

Any ground will work, as long as it is a proper ground.

Turns out the + terminal shorted out when it touched the body... Battery still good. At sears buying battery tie downs to prevent it again. Gonna spend some time cleaning it too. Corrosion everywhere
