How do I keep the 05 X I have from beeping once I take the doors off? Specifically the drivers side.

there is a fuse that you can pull that will disable that and also keep the interior lights from staying on. i can't remember which one, but i'm sure someone will chime in with which fuse it is. just be careful b/c if you leave your headlights on by accident the jeep won't beep to let you know they are on.

I couldn't figure out which fuse, that why I was asking, can you just detach the drivers wires to the switch?

I'm confused. This pulling of wires and switches and covering contacts, etc all seems like a lot of work when simply pulling the fuse fixes the problem in 5 seconds, and can be plugged back in just as fast.

Eh, forget about plugging it back in... You can turn your lights on when you need them, no need for it to happen when you open the doors.

Eh, forget about putting the doors back on. Mine haven't been on since April.

for my YJ the switches are right there real easy to get to, easier than the fuses...lol

reason i don't like pulling fuses is bc sometimes they do more that whats labled.... for instance the cig. lighter fuse is also normaly is the memory wire for radio yet it's not listed.

That's cool, on the TJ there's a dedicated fuse for the doors being off.

I thought I ought to update this for anyone who might ask this question. Yes pulling number 4 does stop the doors from dinging. But it also lets you leave your lights on for hours. Take the risk or not....

They make clips you can buy. Oh and if the jeep is on it won't beep. just don't leave the keys in the ign. I just pull my bulbs since I keep forgetting to look into the clips.

When I pulled my fuse for the dome lights it also killed my dash lights. Plus 12.98 is just like 2 drinks at the bar and its right there on the jams when you need to get at them as long as someone else don't remove them for you.

Maybe its the newer models but my 98 has no issues with lights once I took the fuse out.

My o6 came with 2 threaded black caps that you screw on over the button when you take the doors off. Check and see if yours are threaded at the base, if they are, these little caps are not expensive.

My 05 has had no issues when i pulled the fuse out. The dome lights still come on for about 20 seconds after I shut the ignition off. I can also manually turn the light off and on with the switch on the steering column.
