HU for $750

Just placed a order for a 2017 JK. It will have the stock 130 HU and Alpine system. I plan on replacing the HU within a month or two after receiving it.
Looking for suggestions for a nice unit under $750. I don't need much in the way of frills, no nav and I could take or leave Bluetooth. Nor do I plan on connecting it up to my Iphone. Mostly I listen to music on my flashdrive or HD radio or Sirus. I have no interest in installing the unit myself. Just plan on writing the check and enjoying the sounds
I would like the unit to be able to retain all the stock settings the Alpine system offers.

Pioneer DEH-80PRS. No extra BS, just quality sound.

Due to not replacing speakers and adding amps SQ isn't the main concern

If you do not want nav I would go with a double din deck something like the alpine CDE-265, most will offer Bluetooth connectivity. Pioneer, Kenwood, Clarion also have similar products and all should cost less then your budget installed with Sirius. It really comes down to what you like..

Since you do not plan on installing it yourself I would visit your local audio shops, they might have the different decks on their display board so you can see/feel which manufacturer you like the most.

The other option is a single din usit which would fill half of the opening, this would give you a cubbyhole to put stuff.

Crutchfield says when you use the adapter with the factory amplifier, you'll lose front-to-rear fade control.

That is correct on the fader and I haven't missed it yet. I replaced the 730N in my 09 with a Pioneer AAVH X2700BS and couldn't be happier. Doesn't cut off the highs and lows like the factory equipment. Very clean sound and I am picky about good audio.

IMO the best buy for the money is the Pioneer 4200NEX. Good SQ, easy set-up including automated time alignment, speaker levels, EQ. REMOVABLE face if you ever park with your top off. I know you said the cell phone isn't important but it can become the largest flash drive you have ever seen and can stream iCloud music, Pandora, or anything you store on your phone. It has Apple Carplay and Android Auto for excellent cell phone integration and voice control. I know you said you didn't need NAV but when you plug your phone in, the map application become your NAV, show on the screen and provide turn by turn.

I used the fader once to see if it really made a difference and the speakers are so close that it didn't. I don't miss it a bit and wish I had done it earlier.

I like it! After the Jeep arrives need to find a shop to do the install. Think I can get out for no more than $1,000 for the HU, satellite, and middle of the road backup camera?

There should be no reason you couldn't. I got multiple quotes and the spread in price was unbelievable.

I have the same setup coming and I'm looking at swapping in an Alpine cde-165bt then buying a iPad mini 4 and mounting it in front of that. Plug the iPad into the hu and you're good to go. Just add some accessories and apps.
