Best your going to find for a warn M8000.

Cheapest price right now is $539....only way I think you'll find it cheaper is find a site with free shipping.

warn is one of the best winches out there, and that price is pretty good for that winch. you'd be hard pressed to find a better deal on a new warn.

Smittybuilt 8000 lb. Winch for $299.00 w/ roller fairlead on sale from Qaudratec right now, Warn is great - have one on my Chevy K20, but price is right for the Smittybuilt. Just a thought.

One thing to keep in mind with the Smittybilt...and I was one who had it on my list of items to buy originally, due to the price.

Smittybilts are made in China...they are known for failing, sometimes upon first use...sometimes you'll get a couple years worth. Eventually they are most likely to fail, and usually in a situation where you need them most. They don't use high quality hardware so within a year many of your metal components are going to begin rusting and looking bad. They're all around a winch for someone on a budget who isn't likely to use it very often.

Warn M8000 on the other hand...American made, good warranty and customer service, designed with high quality parts that will look good for years, and designed to actually work perfectly for years with few problems (and if you have problems, Warn will often foot the bill to take care of it). The M8000 is one of the best "entry level" winches out there...they're known for being able to withstand years of FREQUENT winching without failing.

Trust me...spend the extra money and pick up the Warn. The first time your Smittybilt fails you when you're alone in the woods with nobody to tow you out, you will be glad you went with the Warn.

I would stay far away from smittybilt parts. There stuff is cheap and for a reason I had a set of their fender flares on my yj. They were installed correctly and with in a month of purchase both of the rear had ripped off going down the highway. Back in the pre-forum days when newsgroups were the thing there was a whole one posted against smittybilt. I also had their sidesteps and with in a year they had rusted out, they never saw any real off roading (just a few light trails) so they weren't damaged pre-rusting out.
