JL Footwell Lighting

Hello all,

I posted this in the JL Technical section, but didn't get any response, so I figure I'll post it here as well.

I'm looking to install 15" LED strips under each front seat footwell to replace the OEM courtesy LED in my wife's 2018 JL 4-door Sport. There is a yellow and green wire tied into the OEM harness. Since the new LED strips will replace the OEM light, I am thinking that simply cutting the wires and splicing new LED red/jeep yellow and new LED black/jeep green will power the new LED strips. Being that I haven't done much auto wiring, checking with the group to see if I'm missing something.

Just make sure you have the polarity correct.
I don't know JL wiring, there could be bus issues.

Just because you're offended, doesn't mean you're right.

I left the stock lights on my JK and just spliced into the power wire, I ran a separate ground to a screw under the dash. I used a simple test light to find which one was power. Been working great for a year now.
