Kodi - wifi - router?

Is anyone using a Kodi system for TV?

Also what is the best Modem that will keep a good speed and signal? Or possibly a Modem/WiFi router combo?

What's everyone's setup?

Yes I'm using it. But my neighbor loaded it all on my Amazon FireTV for me so I can't offer much technical support. It's nice because you can watch virtually any content that is delivered through a cable or satellite system including PPV events. Downside it is glitchy, has poor to average picture quality so it's not quite a cable TV replacement at least for me but I'm a bit of a video quality snob. I'll watch it on my office TV that is only 40" but nothing bigger than that. But what does it have to do with a Jeep?

I use it as my sole source for our main TV and I agree with the above statement with the exception of having a network server set up at my house. All of my tv/movies are downloaded in what ever quality I prefer and we watch them from there. If you are using kodi to stream content from the net then you get what ever is posted and that can be good or bad. Utilizing newsgroups with some automated downloaders you can get good quality with very little work after the initial setup. This isn't a totally free method but I went from about 130.00 a month to 100.oo a year. Not sure that this is the place to discuss these things or not but Kodi is a very nice piece of software

I also have a 20TB Media Server for the regular TV shows (720p) and movies (1080p) that come through a news server as you mention. I've been using for about 4-5 years. Check out Sickbeard if you don't already have it for online DVR function. It downloads and organizes and sends my weekly TV shows to Plex. I have Kodi for the live TV content like CFB, NFL ticket, PPV events etc but still not where I'd like it. There are other forums to help you set these functions up on your server so I won't get into it here.

I'm running Kodi and Plex (for media server access) on a couple Amazon FireTV boxes and a few FireTV sticks.

Nice, I am using Sonarr instead of of Sick but has the same functionality more or less. I also use couch potato and headphones for movies/music automation. I am using the newest raspberry pi with openelec running on it. It is quick and easy to set up and has running flawlessly for me.

You are way beyond my expertise. I am lucky to have a friend from grade school and high school that is a UNIX Admin that manages my box remotely for me. I built a server with RAID and ten 2TB hard drives running Fedora 22. It's been extremely stable for the last 4 years. I've had 2 or 3 hard drive failures but I pop in a new one and my friend remotely rebuilds it and I'm back up and running over night. My next door neighbor has the Kodi stuff nailed down. Definitely couldn't do it all on my own.

I have been using kodi since it came out on the original xbox many years ago. Have also been using the news groups since before "www" was around. They have both been good to me over the years.

Can someone point to a good deal on Amazon?

They sell lots of them but I don't know which unit better or what to look for.

What about a remote?
