need for OEM radio code?

I am ready to sell an OEM 430RBZ, but I don't have the security code. That said, I didn't need a code when I installed it two years to facilitate a backup camera. When, exactly, is a security code required?

What year is your Jeep and the year of the Jeep the unit came out of? Codes started being needed around the 2012 timeframe.

You can get your security code from the dealer. You need the VIN of the Jeep it was installed in and proof of ownership of said jeep.

Just to add.. If the radio is a newer one that does require a code, it will have ANTI-THEFT printed on the bezel on the lower left side near the volume control knob..

The man is correct.

Although I fail to see why anyone would want to steal a 130 RES. I can see protecting the 430 or 730 though.
