Cool New speaker suggestions for Jeep JK

Okay, so I recently just got my first Wrangler. Love everything about it so far, I realized before hand the stock sound systems in the Jeeps aren't exactly TOP grade. I'm wanting to upgrade pretty much all of the speakers in the Jeep, so I was just coming to see what you guys would recommend to upgrade to?

tldr: wanting to upgrade all speakers in jeep want suggestions

Thanks!

I installed a Pionner 8000NEX with Two JL HD Amps a 4ch and Monoblock for Subs.
For Speakers I installed Infinity Kappa 60.11 Components and 2x Audio Pipe 12” Subs.
I also installed BoomMat headliner to quiet down the road noise and keep the cabin cooler in sunny days and warm in cold winter. (Definetly makes a difference for aydio system.

Well first off I would not expect much out of just a speaker upgrade, speakers are not the biggest issue with the Jeeps audio system. Speakers can not reproduced good sound if they don't get it and the stock head unit leaves much to be desired. The stock head units, roll off the lows and raise the highs and is basically all over the place for everything else. If you want to keep the stock H/U then a dedicated DSP is called for otherwise a new H/U should be first on your list of upgrades.

When it comes to speakers you really should go out and listen to them. We are all different and hear sound differently. I probably spent a good 40 hours over a few months time before I settled on my speakers. Copy some music you are very familiar with on to a USB drive and use that music when listening to the different speakers.

One thing to keep in mind when shopping speakers is there power requirements. You don't want to install a set of speakers that is looking for 100 watts RMS if you are not going to provide that type of power to them. There is a good chance you will damage the speakers, too little power is as bad as to much power.

Finally after you speaker selection is complete you can determine if an amp is required.

I don't as a rule provide specific builds. As I said we are all different when it comes to sound and what we are looking for. I can tell you though when I build a system I am building it for sound quality not how loud it will play. Quality is much more expensive than loud as a general rule and my system is at least as good if not better than my home system. But considering the amount of time we spend in our vehicles it is money well spent IMO.

If you just want to replace the speakers it would be very hard to beat Polk DB speakers. They are designed to work well with the amount of power the factory amplifier puts out.

Going with speakers advertising they can handle huge amounts of power are going to be underpowered by the factory amplifier so they would sound terrible and not put out much volume.

@pcardoza Was the power connector between the PWE-S8 into the iLX-007 a direct connect? Also did you have to raise the passenger seat?
