New System on the way..

Ok Just picked up my 2012 JK with the basic stereo HU and Infinity 7 speaker system. I figure it will last a month before I re-install all of my goodies I ripped out of my 2010 Escape before trading it in.

The plan is the following and what I have:

Pioneer AVH-P3200BT DD HU.
4-Channel Fosgate amp (for front/rear)
2-channel Fosgate amp for sub
All wiring, relays, etc to install the goods
PAC-SWI (new version)
10" JL Audio sub/box

I also have coming:
JL Audio C2-650 Components (front)
JL Audio C2-650x Speakers (for sound bar)
Pac-Audio C2R-CHY4 harness
Metra DD install kit

I am extremely good with installs as I have done many in the past. I had JL Audio C2 componets/speakers in the Escape, but they were 5x7 and 5-1/2 components - so they could not come for the journey. I love the sound they produced so I am doing the same set-up (basically).

I did a good amount of searching, and will continue to do so - but I am looking for any other install tricks, tips, etc in regards to pulling the stock HU and getting to the front lower speakers. I figured out the tweeter pods already. if anyone has any quick reference guides, links or pics it will help a lot as I plan out well in advance of the install.

I already mapped out the power wire and how to get from the battery to the cabin using the plugs in the firewall and dash. The plan is to install each amp under each seat. I will be leaving all the original "stock" wiring and Infinity stuff as is for the future (just in case). Everything will be HU driven so I don't need to tap into existing speaker wire runs etc. All new speaker wire will be laid down. Crossovers will most likely go under the dash to reduce the length of double wires. Or maybe under the center console.... The JL crossovers are pretty much set and forget and all of my tuning/HF/LF comes from the HU and amps.

The harness will provide battery and switched power and I will double ground the HU (its a Pioneer, always a good idea). The rest is RCA to amp and amp to crossovers/speakers/subs.

Should be a good time. Again if anyone has any pics/links, please send my way!

Well a slight change in plans. Going to swap out my AVH-P3200BT for a single DIN DEH-P9400BH. Since my Sirius Tuner and Adaptor and SWI will plug and play nicely, I wanted to have a removable face in the dash as opposed to a 5.8" screen. It just screams "cut the soft top and steal me". The 9400offers the same 3 plug RCA out, LP/HP adjustments and seperate sub controls - just like the 3200. Only difference is going from 8-band EQ to 5. But Im also going from an SUV to a Jeep so I will be just fine. Ordered in the Metra dash kit that has the small cubby underneath. That way I can store my ipod. Plus I get disctracted with the full view of the screen while watching DVD. I know, I know!

I did manage to find a good picture breakdown of someone who removed the dash on a 2011 and installed a new HU. It looks fairly easy. Now onto the planning of how to stash both amps under the front seats.
