Question Odometer won't light up, help?

OK, so here's my issue. This weekend I installed an aftermarket Kenwood KDC-152 head unit into my 2002 TJ. Got the wiring harness from Crutchfield and sat and made all the connections with the harness that came with the unit before I installed it in the car. Had a few wires left that didn't match up to anything. I taped them off and figured there wouldn't be any problems.

The install went smooth, except for getting the stupid bolt off in the back that holds the ground cable and the theft deterrent bar off so that I could get the factory unit out. Everything hooked up smooth and when I turned the engine over and checked it out everything worked just fine. Later on I noticed a problem.

When you open the doors normally the odometer lights up. It isn't now. When you crank the engine it does and all my instruments work just fine. However, when you turn it off, the odometer stays lit up for a second or two and then shuts off; it doesn't do that anymore.

When I turn the Jeep off the head unit stays lit up for a second or two but the odometer doesn't; then you can hear a "click" from behind the instrument panel and then it shuts off. My question is was there a wire I didn't connect that might be causing this problem?

It's confusing I know but here's the wires that were left over and that I didn't connect:
Crutchfield harness:
Blue-Power antenna
Brown-Not used
Orange-Illumination
Orange/White-Dimmer Circuit

KDC-152 harness:
Blue-Antenna control wire
Blue/White-Power Control wire
Brown-Mute Control wire

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. It's not a big deal but I'm just wondering if this is the Jeep gremlin or my stupid fault.
