Parking light failure

2000TJ; Parking lights working intermitantly, as in if you hold the post just right they are on, but move just a hair and they are off.

My CB is powered from this same location. Like the lights, it works when you hold the post in just the right place.

Also, dash lights, same thing. Parking lights, dash lights, CB, same for all.

I have changed out the fuse, fuse board location #1,no better.

Post: the post you pull/push to turn headlights and parking lights on/off.

This is a new problem, just started today.

Maybe, but...
My CB is powered from this fuse. It is set up so that it's always on, unless I power it off. It's on even if lights are off. Now it only works if I hold the post just right.

So is the problem the post, switch, or fuse #1 spot?

its your headlight switch. if it were a fuse the switch would not work at all.

the headlights work fine.

Before problem;
Cb was powered from fuse #1, always on unless you turned it off. There is a metal bracket protruding from the fuse that the Cb is connected to.

Dash lights worked.
Parking lights worked.

Post problem:
Cb, dash lights, and parking lights only work if light post is pulled to the parking light on position and I apply just the right pressure.

Your talking about the post/switch/knob that controls the parking lights and headlights, correct.

Problems solved: a smoked ground and a blown 40 from the ignition.
