Pleeease help with pioneer avic5100 nex install

Been working on the install for the pass six hours since the kids went to bed and now delirious and exhausted....not to mention frustrated beyond belief

Quick history. Recently purchased a jku 2011 and decided to upgrade the stock stereo so that I could get Bluetooth and gps. Even though I have no experience or knowledge about stereos, with all the YouTube and forum info decided to give it a go

Purchased the pioneer avic 5100nex, pac harness, antenna and lightning cable for my iPhone

Followed all the instructions to the best of my ability and got it all setup and working.....expect for the lack of sound
Not sure what I did wrong so went over all the instructions again
Noticed that with the pac harness that I should be hooking up the aftermarket front speakers with the harnesses back speaker wires IF I have an amp
This is how clueless I am with these things.......I don't even know if I have an amp (factory). I know my jeep comes with the subwoofer in the trunk so decided that maybe info have it? And proceeded to re arrange my wiring to the harness.
Plugged it back into the jeep and sure enough still no sound
Not sure what I'm doing wrong but I'll describe all the things that I might be screwing up on and hoping and praying that someone will see the stupid mistake/s I made and correct me

1) first hooked all front and back speaker wires together, plugged in and got no sound despite other functions working

2) rewired assuming I had an amp but still no sound

3) noticed that for the pac harness instructions there was a blue and white wire for powering the amp, so I connected it to the only other wire that kinda made sense on the pioneer side, the blue and white wire which was for system remote control. Still no sound

4)plugged the old head unit back in to make sure I didn't kill anything, sound works no problem

Here are my questions
1) how do I get sound and what did I do wrong from what I've managed to describe?

2) another thing that I be had an issue with is the steering wheel function. From the pac harness I had plugged the jack into the "wired remote" socket of the pioneer but it didn't give me steering wheel fxns
Not sure what I'm supposed to do. Off the harness for the steering wheel functions there is the jack and also a blue and yellow wire
According to the pac instructions, for the pioneer I'm supposed to use the jack. I'm assuming I should be putting it in the wired remote socket for the pioneer but clearly I'm wrong here too

3). Lastly assuming all you tech experts ( compared to me) can help me figure out the above two, my last questions are where is the best place to position the mic and where is the best place to place the gps antenna?

I've rambled enough and hopefully while typing on my phone half asleep I've made enough sense to get some help
Thanks to all reading this and I'll keep my figures crossed

I can't speak to the steering wheel controls since I don't have them, but if things are wired up correctly you may have the wrong harness. I recently installed a Pioneer 7100 in my '08 and I initially thought that I did not have the amp system and bought accordingly. After the install I had zero sound like you. Everything else worked, but no sound. After beating my head on the wall for a bit I decided I should actually see if I have the amplified system, which it turns out I did. Bought the correct harness and viola, the radio rocks. The harness for the amped system vs the non are not backwards compatible. You will get zero sound if you have the wrong one.
Now... all that said. If the amp wire isn't hooked up correctly it wont turn on, and you will get zero sound as well. If you are sure that the original system is stock you can look up your VIN and get a build sheet to verify what you have (I dont have the link right now but you can google the site that will do this). There may be an easier way to tell but with an '11 I dont know what it is. In my '08 I just had to look at the amp to see that I had the Infinity system.

If you have a sub in the back, you have an alpine/infinity/mopar amp. If there is not sub, you don't.

I just looked and I actually have the Metra, not the PAC harness, AND I only have the part number for the one that did NOT work (XSVI-6522-NAV). I realized it was the wrong one while installing and I wasn't patient enough to wait for the right one to ship. So I went and paid the $40 premium at the local Best Buy to have it now and don't have an online record nor the receipt and not about to take it all apart again to get the right P/N. :-)

Sorry, not much help I know.

i wouldnt worry too much about the speaker wire codes and the amp yes or no - on mine it just meant the balance or the fade front to back is backwards - i fixed my issue by reversing the inputs on the new amp under the front seat.

I used the idatlink maestro and their wiring harness and everything was plug and play - sound like you have the wrong harness...

Thanks for the help guys
I played around with it all day and took apart and reconnected everything. Didn't do anything different but it seems to work now. Must have screwed up somewhere. Just don't know where

Once all done the steering wheel controls didn't work still
Read up on the reviews on Amazon and came across on that fixed my issue
Even though it states that the pac pr4 11. Comes preprogrammed with the factory codes. We do have the option to change them up
This particular reviewer had the same problem I did and apparently all he did was reset the device getting it back to the original codes ( which you didn't have to do) and then it worked
Did the same thing and sure enough 7 secs later mine was fixed too
Got to love these simple fixes

So now all I have to do tonight is plug everything back and I'm good to go

On another note
What is the best place to place the mic? And the gps antenna
Thanks
