reverse lights

Hooking up 2 55w lights to reverse light wires. I spliced both into driver side wire, when one lights up it is bright, when I hook up the other one, they get dull. Would they stay bright if I hook up one to driver side, and one to pass. Side? Or do I need to come from bat?

Connect one to drivers side and one to the passenger side, it's going to be dimmer than running one no matter what, but doing it that way should brighten it up a little

Ya it was, wasn't happy so I went to bat. And had to put a switch in. Even the led reverse lights dimmed. Wanted not to put a switch, but I quess I had to.

In my opinion run an appropriate sized wire from the battery and trigger a relay from the reverse light signal to turn them on. The wiring to the reverse lights is not designed to power the current reverse lights as well as a pair of 55w lights as well. Don't forget to use appropriatly placed and sized fuses for that as well.

PS might want to consider using a switch to activate instead there are other times I like to use mine other than when in reverse.
