Speaker System and Pioneer AVH 4100

Hey everyone,

I am looking to upgrade the speakers (maybe an amp upgrade as well) in my 2012 Wrangler from the original factory set to go along with the Pioneer AVH 4100 NEX system I am going to install. Unfortunately for me, I am not tech savy AT ALL and have no idea what I am looking for, or how to do any installations.

Any recommendations on what speakers to get (and links to where I can buy them) would be greatly appreciated! Once I purchase everything I need, I am going to have a local shop install both the speakers, and the Pioneer system. My jeep doesn't have a sub in the back, and I think I am going to stay away from that due to virtually not having trunk space to begin with.

Thank you so much in advance!

-Andrew

I'll give you a few suggestions:

1) plan on adding an amp. If if not in your budget, save and make room for it. There are some "budget" amps that stack up very well against higher priced name brands. Check out the Precision Power PPI 900, it comes in 4 or 5 channel for future expansion.

2) Same with a sub, if you don't think you want/need one, plan to add one in the future. Unfortunately the Jeep speaker enclosures (front pods and sound bar) are too small to produce reasonable bass below 80-90hz no matter what speaker you choose. You can put up to 10" subs under the seats in a 4 door JKU..takes no space from your back.

3) Go LISTEN to speakers and choose what sounds good to YOU. I'm talking and afternoon at the car stereo store with music you like to listen to. Some quality brands to consider in alphabetical order: Focal, Hertz, JL, Polk MM...etc.

Have fun with the process, it will be the best spent money for you Jeep, especially when summer rolls around and you drive topless. PM me if you have questions.
