Subwoofer enclosure JK 2012

Hi i add a Alpine and Pioneer AVH-P4400BH to my JK 2012,now I would like to buy a new subwoofer....
Does this one would fit in the Infinity enclosure:SA-8 V2 D2 SUNDOWN AUDIO
SA-8 V2 D2 SUNDOWN AUDIO SUB 8" DVC 2 OHM V2 VERSION 2 SERIES SUBWOOFER NEW | eBay
It seems to be a killer 8 inch sub
Thank you

I don't think that sub will fit. You are right about the DVC 2 ohms format but the mounting depht is too deep.

I just ordered two Pioneer 8" shallow mount subwoofers, one to be mounted in the factory location and the other in a Pioneer .15 cu ft enclosure under the rear left passenger seat. I am planning on running them with a Rockford Fosgate Digital monoblock amp in parallel creating a 2 ohm load after I restore the soud with a ReQ processor. I will write something about how it turns out later.

Building an enclosure is definitely an option for that sub. It all depends if you don't mind having some of your cargo space taken by an ugly box.

My build is more of a stealthy approach. I want everything out of sight and without taking cargo space. That is why I am going to use a very small enclosure under the seat for the second sub. I am also upgrading the factory Infinity speakers with Infinity Reference components for the front and coaxials for the sound bar. The advantage is that the Reference speakers are 2 ohms which will work better with the stock amp.

The referance speakers from infinity are just as bad as the stock ones. Go with the kappa components. And kappa coaxials

That depends on the signal you are sending to the reference speakers. A crappy OEM headunit will make them sound horrendous on the other hand a clean amplified signal will do magic with them.

Even with a great signal and the right tuning they still suck.

It's a matter of perspective. Please explain why they suck.

I see, how much power were you sending to them? If you don't mind me asking.

i had an older model of the reference components, they are 80 watt rms, i was pumping 75 and the amount of clipping was crazy in order to hear everything they were putting out. i went up to the perfects after about 6 months of running the reference.

So I finished the installation on my jeep. I am pleased to report that the new setup sounds much better than the stock Infinity system, granted I am still using the stock amp.

The one thing I wanted to get rid of was the boominess of the stock infinity speakers particularly the subwoofer which sounded more like mid-bass than anything else. The Pioneer shallow subs (one in the stock location and one under the rear passenger seat with a Pioneer shallow enclosure) sound pretty good, now you can hear and feel the bass not just hear it like the stock sub. Just don't think you will be able to terrorize the neighborhood with just two 8" subs, more like terrorizing your mother in law if she is riding with you.

Direct subwoofer replacement

If you wish to replace your inferior factory Infinity subwoofer, an exact replacement is the shallow-mount 8-inch Pioneer TS-SW841D. The mounting holes are exactly the same and the speaker is shallow enough to mount w/o a spacer ring. You will, however, need a new grill as the Infinity grill will not fit. I'm running a 5-ch amp with 200 watts to the sub and it sounds great.
