Talking on the CB anyone else like it?

In late 80 and into 91 and a little after I had a Cobra 148 with a kicker. I really enjoyed talking on it, to say the least. I met a lot of people, we would often times get on top of hills locally and talk, and drink a little. Now there isn't a lot of people out there, although there are some. I have met some and i still enjoy going up a hill and talking on it. I dont drink when I am up because i dont drink and drive, I talk to quite a few people on a regular basis and making small talk with people is fun. I still wish I had that kicker though I could really get out there but sitting up high you can get out really good. Anyone else ever just get out and talk on them

Yea back in the 80s I had a Cobra base station with a directional antenna that covered all of South Jersey. If I aimed it east at twilight, I could reach Europe bouncing side waves. Also had another Cobra in my F250 with 38s. Used to drive up Apple Pie Hill. It is highest point in flat South Jersey surrounded by the state forest. Both were "tuned" a bit as was common. It was a easy fun way for friends to keep in touch.

Here is Wilmington NC, I don't hear anyone on the CB. Even as a port city, there is not much chatter from the truckers. I guess cell phones and FB have taken over.

This. ^

Last century there was a big CB craze. I had fun with CB then and it led me to Ham radio. Ham is a lot more fun than CB.
