Tip for GPS for your Iphone or Ipad

Hi Guys,

I spent a lot of time solving trying to problem and would like to offer what I came up with to everyone else.
While off roading GPS seemed to be a problem for us. I have a handheld GPS and cant read the small screen while driving, my buddy has a Rubicon and his GPS does not have the satellite view, so it really does not help. The Iphone is said to have a built in GPS and I have yet to get it to work correctly with the offline maps.

I want to know where I am and see access roads, trails or whatever that are not on most maps as well as other stuff that you can only see with a satellite view map.

There are two GPS receivers that seem to be the best the Garmin and Dual Skypro, these are mostly used for aviation. I went with the Garmin for $99 on amazon. Why? the more expensive Dual Skypro has a faster rate of updating and unless I'm doing the same speed as a jet I do not need this.

I then purchased a offline maps app for my iphone and Ipad, I went with the Terra Maps for $9.00 because it has a really good satellite view and topo.
The GPS receiver hooks up to your smart phone or Ipad by Bluetooth.
This last weekend I tried it out and everything worked great! I have an Ipad holder that attached to my windshield,

Hope this helps others

I've heard good things about the Skypro.

Check out the Bad Elf gps too. Comes in lightning(129$) and bluetooth(199$ for cheapest model)
Every Wrangler owner has the same fantasy; alone in the great outdoors, atop some wild, rugged terrain, with an awesome dog (probably a Labrador, probably named something Titus, and probably wearing a handsome bandana around his neck), overlooking an incredible panoramic mountainous vista, while standing in front of their kickass Jeep Wrangler.
