TJ console sub help

I know there are lots of posts on this topic but I may have a few differences with my jeep.
1. Wild aftermarket radio
2. I have never heard the sub make a noise since I got the jeep

My radio is a Kenwood DDX8022BT yes thats a 7" radio in my tj. The radio itself works fine never any issues. Just spring is here and I figured time to make that thing bump haha.

I don't really know if my radio will support a sub or if I need an amp or if I have all the necessary components there and the sub is blown. It has never made a noise. I've played for hours with the audio settings on the radio(there's tons) I don't know where to start so any help would be great!

So you don't have an amp going to your sub?
How/where did you connect the sub to the stereo?

While you have a nice head unit to work with, you will need an amp to power any sub even if it's only an 8". Since you have to add something, might as well power all you speakers at the same time. Start looking at 5 channel amps and a replacement sub and you will be good to go.

If you do not have the factory sub, SSV Works sells sub enclosure for an 8" sub that fits in the console of a tj.

SSV box is poorly made, doesn't fit well and some of the subs they say fit, don't. Customer service isn't any better...
There is a few posts around here and elsewhere by me and others saying the same...

factory sub is there. Doesn't look blown apart. So I need a 5 channel amp
