This is a bit of an old thread here, but ....

Is there a USB switch that will fit in the blank panel on an 04 TJ? I keep coming across the Rugged Ridge ones but they only say they fit the Rugged Ridge Pods.

Thats cool, and it might even produce 3 amps, But how can we prove that this chinese product has the circuitry to provide more than the minimum 500mA to modern phones.

Nowadays, different brands are offering fast charging options, where they communicate with the charger to discern how much current it can draw. Most common is the Qualcom Quickcharge standard, or the Apple fast charging standard.

Ill bet it only follows the China standard of shorting out the data pins, to indicate that it is "A" charger, not being specific as to how much it can provide. (Wiki)
