I have this - liked the completeness of the kit and ease of installation. My Cobra handset sits perfectly in that position.

The first mount was on the center rollbar hoop. I liked that location since it put the speaker close to my ear which helps in a noisy Jeep. It also let me place the mic in the console cup holder immediately below.

Then I moved it up front and over the dash, which I've done in two TJs now. Great location. And if you get some spring-loaded automatic mic retrievers, it pulls the mic back into position once you're done with it. I later gave the mic cords one wrap each around the overhead mount so they don't dangle like in the photo. There's still plenty of stretch/slack left to pull them out from their spring-loaded mic retrievers.

I got the overhead mount which hides all the wiring and requires no drilling to mount from ARIZONA ROCKY ROAD ANTENNA MOUNTS FOR JEEP WRANGLER, UNLIMITED AND LIBERTY

The Uniden 520XL CB is bolted to the bottom of a Yaesu FT-2900R 2m ham radio.

I like Jerry's second idea, especially about keeping the mic cord out of the way (I hate having the cord swinging in my face), but I'm going to wait until I get the full cage installed before I mount mine up there. Until then I have mine mounted on top of the dash - definitely no cord issues here!

The Arizona Rocky Road mount screws into the side roll bars using the same forward-most hole that the front door surround bolts use. The part that sits on top of the roll bar is thin enough that it doesn't interfere with any of the tops.

Every time you mention this, I tell myself I need to go buy one. I think I'll need to visit Amazon later today. Any specific recommendations as far as brand, model, etc Jerry?

OP: my CB is mounted overhead between two roll bars I added to my cage. Here is an embarrassing photo, taken before I cleaned up the wiring:

You can see the bottom of my Uniden PRO 510XL between the bars. Above the sun visor, mounted to the windshield frame itself, is the faceplate to my Yaesu FT-7900R ham radio. Above the mirror are my dash cam and a remote speaker for the ham radio.

I really need to take an updated photo of this setup.

I followed this write-up for a stealth install. Can't see anything besides the tailgate bracket when I'm not wheelin'

Jerry,

Do you know if this mount would work with a spiderwebshade installed?

It should work fine with that. It works with hard tops, soft tops, and bikini tops, and the spiderweb is essentially a bikini top.

Thanks! I think I will go with that mount then.
