Would you recommend this?

So I plan on slowly upgrading my sound in my jeep and was wondering if this was a solid start?

Quadratec Exclusive KWF-9702 - Kicker Factory Replacement Front Dash Speaker Kits for 97-06 Jeep® Wrangler TJ & Unlimited - Quadratec

Also when I bought my jeep it didn't come with a sound bar and now I am looking at those too. Any recommendations there?

Thanks!

Pffft I would pay half that for those. Check Cruchfield (they will send you adapters w/speaker purchase) or Amazon.

Yikes.

+1 on crutchfield, I was lucky enough to get some infinity reference 4x6s for 50$ there, with those little connectors, AND an instruction sheet on installing without pulling the dash (in a YJ). Got some Blapunkt 4s for the soundbar and a JVC Arsenal BT headunit for another 140$.

Partly my being able to go to their retail outlet, partly their awesome deals. I would certainly look there first, then go elsewhere.

If it were me, and not long ago it was, I'd get a set of the adapter plates and put 5.25s isbthe dash. The adapters are available on eBay amongst other places very cheaply.

Get the 5.25" plates here and get a set of some nice 5.25" speakers with a high sensitivity rating; the Polk Audio Dxi and Db series are pretty popular, as are the Infinity Kappa and Reference series. If you plan to amplify them, I would recommend getting a component set for the front speakers, so also get these tweeter mounts.

You can get soundbars from various places like eBay and even junkyards. Most aftermarket ones come pre-loaded with cheap speakers... unless you get a good deal and can afford to scrap the crappy speakers, you will probably want to find an OEM Jeep soundbar without speakers and just buy your own. The factory TJ soundbar holds 5.25" speakers, but you can easily fit 6.5" up there.

Thank you very much! When it comes to audio, that's where my knowledge falls short so I definitely will check those out.
