1st Quadratec order went great, 2nd...not so much.

I ordered a Quadratec hitch for my JKU back in April and everything went great. Awesome price and great product. On Monday, I ordered a Quadratec Adventure Top S for my 4dr Wrangler since mine was a hard top only option. Arrived about 8:00pm last night and was all set to install it on this sunny CO Saturday afternoon. Ran some errands in the morning waiting for the weather to warm up enough to heat up the top in the sun. Around noon, I finally unbolt the hard top, remove it and unpackage the Quadtratec top. Before I got headlong into the process, my wife suggests I eat some lunch so I don't get "hangry" during the install. I grab the instructions and start eating when I look down in horror and see that the instructions are for a 2-dr Wrangler. My heart sunk. I thought maybe the 4dr instructions were on the other side, but nope. I run out the garage to check the box...sure enough 2-dr top. Again my heart sank...but was it my fault? Did I order the wrong top? Go into my Quadratec account and thankfully, I did in fact order the right top; they had just picked the wrong one to send to me.

At this point, I'm both relieved and pissed at the same time. I called Quadratec, but no customer service operators on Saturday so I live chat. Rep sees the mistake, apologizes and offers to send a UPS label to return the old one and send out a new one on Monday. I wasn't satisfied with that answer and just wanted to return it at that point. My weekend plans are essentially ruined. From my standpoint, something more than just a stock "we'll send out a new one" should have been offered. By the end of the conversation, for my inconvenience and after asking, I was offered a partial refund of $75 on my $700 order. I accepted that offer and hopefully round 2 will go better than the first.

At least they offered you that. I ordered 5 wheels 7/14. They were confirmed in stock. Shipped, delivered 7/23. Whatever. Except, they only shipped 4 wheels. I called 7/23, they admitted that they goofed. Didn't ship the last wheel until 7/25. Delivered 7/30. 16 days to get an in stock item delivered in the lower 48 is absurd. Asked via email for a discount code on my next order, they gave me 5% but I have to phone in the order, which usually takes at least an hour on hold. Not even worth calling for the discount. Thanks. In order to get anything close to $74 for my time I would have to spend $1500, and hope and pray and wish that they actually ship $1500 of parts without having to call them and beg them to do it. Super not happy.

When I was younger, I dutifully ate a cereal I really did not like because if I mailed in four cereal box tops I would get a life like bowling alley. Bowling alley to arrive in the then standard six to eight weeks. (Did not occur to me at that age just to rip the tops off the box, but then that would be wasting food which was a no no)

So I waited, much like the little fellow on Christmas Story waiting for his BB gun.

Finally my bowling alley arrived. A mere one foot piece of plastic junk which broke in about an hour. No internet to consult to tell someone I was wronged and wanted compensation,no social media to blow up, no phone number to call. Don't even know who had my box tops.

I still remember playing with that bowling alley and that one hour was great.

Times are a changing.
