Check out Johnson Valley up in the desert. Its north of the Big Bear Mountain range East of hwy 15, take hwy 18 east. Go out to the Lucerne valley area. its actually easy to find. Look on the google earth, there is a dry lake bed there that offers all kinds of fun!

Good luck

I have gone to Big Bear a couple times, most trails are fairly easy. Do you have details on and moderate trails you can pass along? THX

Ocotillo Wells off HWY 78 is a general Calif. state off road area. This is out toward the Salton Sea. This is low desert so lots of sand washes etc. Also out in that direction is Borrego Mountain area with mostly moderate terrain. Places like THE SLOT AND HAWK CANYON are really worth seeing.
