Wrangler Forum Meet n Greet Spring 2020

Good day everyone. Its been a while since Ive posted in here but Im back. I will be organizing the So Cal Wrangler Forum Meet n Greet or Turdfest for short.

Official date of Turdfest is April 17-19, 2020

For those of you who have attended before, the same set up will be in place. For those new to a Turdfest event, we tend to meet at the Calico Ghost Town campground Friday afternoon/evening and will all gather around to chit chat and catch up on what we have going on in life. We tend to hang our around a couple of campfires and have a cold beverage or two and enjoy the evening.

Saturday we will split into groups depending on experience and Jeep build to hit trails and explore the area. Saturday night is always an awesome potluck dinner that no one walks away from hungry or wanting more. After dinner, we enjoy a evening of laughter, tall tales of how awesome our rigs are and making new lasting friendships.

Sundays are open to do as you please. Some choose to do another quick run, others choose to pack up and go home to be ready for the real world come Monday.

The Calico Ghost Town Campground is a great fit for individuals and families. As such, Turdfest is also family friendly and pet friendly. There are full hook ups for RVs, tent sites and even a few cabins. There are also proper flush toilets and showers there.

Link to make reservations for camping. http://cms.sbcounty.gov/parks/Activities/Camping.aspx

We do have a few basic rules for Turdfest events and they are easy to follow.

1) NO DRINKING ON THE TRAILS
2) Recovery points front and rear of your rig
3) Fire extinguisher within reach of driver or others
4) First Aid kit
5) CB Radio or HAM Radio
6) Spare tire

We always have some great members who volunteer to assist in the Turdfest events by being trail leaders and tail gunners. If anyone wished to be a trail lead or assist in the event, please let me know.

Of course, our event is open to all level of driver experience and Jeep build. We don't leave anyone behind as coyote bait and we've yet to lose someone.

With all that said, wheeling is dangerous and damage to vehicles or individuals is possible. All attendees at Turdfest are ultimately responsible for your own well being. Please bring all needed water, food, tools etc.

If anyone has friends that would also wish to attend, all are welcome, but this is a Meet n Greet for Wrangler Forum. If you could please have them sign up on the Forum would be appreciated.

SWEET!! I'm there and got campsite O-16 already reserved. Cannot wait, I need some R&R time.

I'll volunteer to lead the Doran/Odessa run again unless someone else wants that job this year.

And for the first time I will NOT be bringing my famous Marie Calendar pies for the potluck, no doubt that will make some very happy though lol. Marie Calendars just shut my local restaurant down so I'll have to come up with something new.

Speaking of food, who wants to go to Peggy Sue's for dinner early Friday night?

It's been a while since we've been to a big M&G. At this point I will put us down as a maybe. ;-) It would be good to see everyone again. We would most likely camp outside of the campground where it's free. ;-)

Count me and Sandi in for dinner at Peggy Sues. Love their fried chicken!

Hey Jen and John. Would love to have you guys come out and join us. If you can find your way to the campground for the festivities, John can join us for a cigar and cold beverage. We will more than likely have the Libation Station again, haha.

Bummer, I'll have to miss it again. I'm not available that weekend. Have fun!

On a side note, I'm fixin' to trade in my beloved '09 Rubi for a new 2020 Rubi any day now, and I'm planning to keep the new Rubi mostly stock (which was actually the original plan for the '09 Rubi but that plan didn't stick so we'll see haha), so the next time I actually do make it back out to a M&G, I'll have a very different look.

Jeff can you assign me a trail. The one with you would be okay I think. I still have no lockers but have done it many times. If not stick me on an easy trail or somewhere. Lol. (Rhonda)

So now you're a newb again, that means that the razzing and hazing has to start over. Are you ready for that? haha.

Very cool, you'll really like what we do out there. It's fun enough that some of us like me haven't missed one since the first M&G many years ago. We do another M&G up in Big Bear later in the year.
