Lovell Wash & possibly Potato, this Friday-1200

I know few, if any, will make this short notice one, but I have a friend coming in tomorrow from North Carolina that wants to see what SW jeep'n is about. This is a non club specific run.

See reference pic below. USFS Roads 539 & 538 from HWY 160 to Lovell Canyon Rd. This route is overland climbing out of Lovell Wash to the ridges. Highlights are petroglyphs, old homestead, and views. Add-on optional is Potato Ridge to Red Rock if time (and snowfall) permits. We will decide how pegged our fun meter is after completion of the first one. For reference USFS 539/538 is right at 17 miles and takes about two hours.

If any want to attend, 1200 link up Friday at the HWY 160/159 Blue Diamond Travel Center Chevron. If coming from Pahrump way, meet at the trail head (just let me know that is your intent so I can be looking for you). Trailhead lat/long with HWY 160 is: 36.00433, -115.64552

Dang. I'll be heading to Utah on Friday morning or I'd go.

Okay. Ridiculous amount of rain today. I believe in treading lightly (and despising mud helps), so changing this to Potato Ridge/Rocky Gap only (rocky terrain). Might not make it to the summit because of snow, but I like the wash /creek anyway. Same time.

Really good time today. 2 x Jeeps. We went in and out of the washes and kept it moving (minus 20 minutes up at the summit eating--brought my 7 & 4 year old along and they wanted food and snow...not necessarily in that order). Nice everywhere except for some pretty chilly winds out of the WSW when we were at the summit.

Pics from today.
