New to Vegas - Suggestions for Saturday 3/19

Hi All,

I'm new to Vegas (moved here in July) and just re-joined the Wrangler family after a brief hiatus. Picked up a 2014 JKUR on Saturday. Looking forward to getting to know some folks around here.

My 18 year old daughter will be visiting this weekend and I thought it would be fun to take the Jeep out on Saturday. Any suggestions for something close by and relatively mild? Stock JKUR and I know how to drive so not looking for just a dirt road LOL.

I'd love to but my daughter flies out at noon on Sunday so it's gonna have to be on Saturday for us. Maybe next time.

We'll do a Saturday run...

How about the SW corner of the valley? Meet at 8:30am Saturday at the Chevron station on Nevada 160 (Blue Diamond) and Nevada 159 (road that goes through Red Rock canyon). We'll head west then south (IIRC it's Cottonwood Pass Road) ending up in Good Springs, looping back to Nevada 160 close to our starting point.

Bring chairs and lunch.

This would be a great trip for a stock JK!

Count me in.

MapQuest doesn't call out "Cottonwood Pass Road". Is it the one that goes south along the west side of the Spring Range? I've never been that way. It looks like it starts out a little bit "dirt road"ish. Looking forward to it.
Or are we talking Mt Potosi Pass Road that takes off to the Boy Scout camp? The pass is "jeepy".

See you at 0830, white top, black fenders.

It's the road that heads south on the east side of Mt. Potosi right where 160 adds the uphill passing lane. There is a parking lot and pit toilet on the south side of the road.

See ya then!

I live here in Henderson and would go out one day soon as well, I usually take the dirtbikes and quads but have never taken my jeep out on any of the trails around here so send me a message JeepinAllNight and maybe we could head out one day...

No problem Clint. Catch you again soon. Let's plan a trip out to Gold Butte... We've never been there and some of the photos make it look like a place not to miss...
