Former Reno/Tahoe Guy, here is a good link,
Off Road Vehicle Access in Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit | Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit | Oh, Ranger!

You have many great trails a short drive away. Get out and explore!

I like the Genoa Peak Road great views at the top

(I know is says I am from Salem, but I lived in South Lake Tahoe for 19 years, have done the Rubicon forwards, and backwards (which is a really funny story).

Checking in, even though I'm not quite there yet. I'll be moving to the Reno area in a couple of weeks.

Logan is gorgeous, but not where the work is. This area doesn't look too bad though...

Supposedly there's some ghost town's foundations down a trail between Dayton and Silver Springs. I guess it's a couple of hours off the pavement, but I haven't been able to check it out yet. I have no idea what else is around...a bunch of dirt roads but I don't know what's private and what's public out here.
