Help! Computer - Windows 10 OS ?

Hey y'all -
Well I messed up my computer real good... deleted a program that had expanded into the OS which knocked out every file I have. I cannot even get to the desktop ugh.

By chance, does anyone have a zip file of Windows 10 OS they could share? I must start from scratch to try to retrieve my files- hopefully... Everything I need was on that thing....

TIA

I don't remember which "F" key you need to hit as your computer is booting up. Hopefully someone here knows and will respond.
What I would do is shut the machine off, wait 30 seconds and turn it back on. As soon as it starts to boot up, hit whichever "F" key that another poster tells you. Then look for "System Restore". Go back to before you deleted the program that messed things up.
If you don't want to wait for a suggestion, start with "F4".

Let us know how it goes.

Good Luck, L.M.

What kind of computer is it? a laptop, a desktop? from whom? Dell Samsung? Most of them have a recovery partition and a key combination to restore the system.

Newer computers don't come with back up discs anymore. The backup is on the HD. My 5yr old laptop doesn't even have a CD drive. If you can't access this back up copy, call the computer manufacturer with the serial number and windows license number if you have those. Googling it, doesn't look too expensive to buy and skip the aggravation.

If you interrupt the boot cycle 3 times, windows will boot into recovery mode. You can do this by powering it off hard by holding the power button when it hits the windows logo during the load.

You can download the Win10 ISO direct from microsoft's site. It will pull the key from the motherboard to activate. Pretty slick, and a bit creepy at the same time.

That's probably the least creepy information Win10 is harvesting from you...
