I looked them up on Facebook. The groups don't look too friendly. Both groups are closed groups so the only way I can find out if I'd like to join is to join.

the reason we went private is because if the group is open then every time we post something in the group then it's visible on the regular timeline. so all of my non jeep friends could see what was being posted in the group and like it and comment on it. so we therefore changed it to closed so that wouldn't happen anymore and only people in the group can comment, like and see it

If anyone is in the New Orleans area I am a member of NOLA4X4 look us up on facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/NOLA4X4/ , we meet on the second Tuesday of the month at Rotolo's in Metairie. We are currently putting together a calendar of events for the new year. I also meet up with "Da Parish" Chapter of South Louisiana Jeep Association when they are in town, and do trail rides with LA4X4, all are great clubs to get involved with.
Happy Jeeping!

AWOL - Meets in the Hammond area

BRAJA - Meets in the BR area

Krew Da Jeepz - I believe they are in the Lafayette area

LA 4x4 - Meets in the BR area

NOLA 4x4 - Meets in the NO area

Northshore 4x4 - I believe they are in the Covington area

SLJA - Meets in the Houma area

Some have sites, maybe all of them. Google would know better than I would.

State chartered clubs (these clubs have dues, operate as non-profit corporations and are run by a body of elected officials)
LA4x4: Baton Rouge
AWOL: Hammond
NOLA4x4: New Orleans
Northshore4x4: no longer in operation

Jeep based social groups (no dues, common interest group that corresponds via social media, leadership style varies by group)
BRAJA: Baton Rouge
SLJA: Morgan City, Houma, and Slidell / New Orleans area
HAHA: Hammond area
NOJC: New Orleans

Be aware that new social groups are popping up constantly, chartered clubs are a bit more stable, inherent to the fact that they operate under a corporation status. LA4x4 has been around for 20+ years, AWOL I believe about 8-10, Northshore was in operation for I think 8 and NOLA (the newest) about 3. NOLA may be new but the club has come a long way in the short to time it has been in operation and has some very dedicated people involved.
While there is a difference in how they operate and what they focus on, the one thing that you will find in common is a love for Jeeps.
