Big Cypress 1/7/17

Hey guys, me and one other forum member are planning to hit big cypress on Sat Jan 7. We haven't been out there yet, and would love to have as many people as possible to join in on the fun.

If you're game, lets go! Hopefully we can get at least one person who has been out there before to show us around.

Hey man. Computergeek and I both live near each other, so we hadn't really thought of a meeting place yet. If others are interested we could definitely meet up at the gas station near the casino on the way out there.

Probably meet up around 9 or so, to get a full day out of the trip.

Not sure what the condition of the ride will be as neither of us have been before.

If there's a lot of interest with this, we can figure out the meeting info and post it. Either way, pm me your phone number if you would like to join us, the more the merrier.

Cool! How was it and where the trails easy to find? How was the terrain? In assume flat, but any really deep mud? Any info on the trails and how to get to them would be great.

I be up fir the next trip. Any chance of a Sunday?

It was fun! Yeah the trails are easy to find because they give you a map. You do need to get on off road vehicle permit from them first. The permit is $100 for the year. The terrain was a mix of flat, bumpy and muddy. There was one trail that was a real tight squeeze that one was my favorite. There are some spots that are cool for 2WD,some spots that need 4hi and a spot or 2 that needs 4lo. There's places there to camp and a lot of cool scenery. (We saw 2 deer and a gator.) There's all kinds of wildlife. We were talking to a guy that was camping there he saw a bear and a python.

Cool. For a $100 I better go a few times a year! Guess there is main entrance near the east side you stop at to get maps and pay the fee?

Alright, yeah we will post when we are going next. Yes we used CB's. There is no Cell service in most of the areas there. You don't have to have one but it makes it so much easier if you have one.

More pics, because I've been lazy and haven't gotten my camera out yet. Yes it was fun, nothing difficult, just a couple spots of deep mud, but nothing bad. It could be a lot of fun getting a group together and going out for a camp fire/picnic/hang out and bullshit day. Hope you can come next time Dirt Boy, and anyone else who was interested.
