Cat 5 Coming, you ready?

Got a generator and gas, so not much to do except to see if we get hit.

Ready.

Yep, plan is to move my Jeep into the wife's office building garage on Fri to wait out the storm. Have food and water ready to go. Oh and plenty of booze!

Waiting till Saturday morning to decide if we are staying or not. The worst part is the wait. The entertaining part is watching everyone get crazy.

Im up in Charleston, SC. People up here are nuts and we are almost a week out. Gas stations are running out of gas. People are waiting at the grocery stores for shipments of water. This is ridiculous and we arnt even close to knowing if it's going to hit or not. Im going to fill up my jeep and a gas can but probably not till sunday or monday because id run out by then again anyways. I really dont get the water thing. Do people not realize the water from the tap is working up until the storm hits. Get a bucket with a lid. Theres 5 gallons for the price of a 2 dollar bucket.

It really is strange what people do when something like this is prdicted.

The store here ran out of water and over night got a truck load. So 50 people, so I am told, were waiting for the store to open yesterday.

Did they buy what they needed? No, they took gallon jugs of water by the cart full out to their cars....

So, when people cam in at 9 or 10 to get some, it was gone......

The same with the gas station. I was going to get a 5 gallon can filled for generator in case and the line for gas was 12 cars deep and people were fighting over who was first in line..... Are you all crazy. It is still 5 days out people if and a big IF it comes here at all.

I am a member of a CERT Group for the county and we haven't even been activated or told to be ready, cause no one knows what will happen a week from now.

I am ready no matter what. Leave with ponies, cats, dogs, sister in law, sister, wife, and Jeep or stay and fire up the generator and help out everyone with Jeep. They know I am here.

I am done, I just am amazed at the attitude of people.

Well, with the track now coming over the top of us..... We are moving over to the big house as they left on Monday.

It is a better built house and has room for all of us, 3 families.

Can't leave as there isn't any gas anywhere right now nor a place to stay within 2 states.

I have the backhoe, chainsaw, Jeep, 2 tractors, and a 1 ton truck ready to help after this thing passes.

They are saying we WILL get winds of 90 mph and that is just nuts here.

Hey neighbor, be safe.

The toys are in the garage. The anxiety level has dropped some since the track has moved more west but not out of the woods. Planning on losing power for a week. Hoping that's the worse that happens.

I have been toying with joining the CERT group in our county but from the two people I have meet that are a part of it. They informed me about their training but it seems to be a group that just wants to sit around and talk about how they know more than anyone else about handling situations..

That is too bad as we have been active in lost Alzheimer adults to kids missing in the forest. We train for the worst so we can help not talk about how good we are above others. We also do joint training with the mounted patrol, ATV, and others for disasters. It is very fulfilling for me to be a part of this unit.
