Hey y'all! Just to help people out - I was recently in the market for a 2017 JKU Winter Edition (which eventually turned into my ordering a regular, non-WE JKU). I had gotten in touch with Craig at Koons but also sent emails to several places in Brevard, Orange, Osceola, Polk and Hillsborough Counties. I told them we had an Affiliates Rewards # thanks to my husband's work, I was a member of WranglerForum.com and JeepGarage.org and, as appropriate, I knew they had given a great discount to someone on NAMEOFBOARD in the recent past (I had searched the boards to see who had gotten what discounts from which dealerships in 2015 and 2016).
Invoice on the WE I wanted, with just a few options, was $41,698. These were the quotes I got in mid-December, all before fees and taxes:
Airport CJD on 436 - $41,398 (<1% off invoice)
Beck Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram - auto reply, will get back to me. Never did.
Ferman Jeep - Never replied
Fields Jeep in Sanford - $40,498 (2.88% below invoice)
-- Also offered 2.98% below invoice for a regular - non WE - 2017 JKU
-- Doc fee $689
Jim Browne Jeep - $40,864 (2% off invoice)
Greenway $41,356 (<1% off invoice)
Koons - Virginia $39.196.12 (6% off invoice)
-- Processing fee $599
-- Everyone sings the praises of Craig. I agree. He is friendly and very quick to reply.
Lakeland Dodge $40,553 (2.5% below invoice)
-- Also offered another $1000 off if we use their financing
Napleton CJD (Osceola) $39,197.00
(matched Koons' 6% off invoice)
-- When I expressed interest in a regular JKU - not WE - they wouldn't go below invoice
-- Also tacked on $629 in "Options"
-- "List Fees" were $1,794.50 (high in comparison to Koons and Fields)
I eventually went with a 2017 JKU (regular, not WE) from Fields in Sanford. True, Koons was cheaper but when you consider travel between FL and VA, at least 1 hotel night, and shipping the Jeep home because I didn't want to drive it 900 miles as soon as I got it, there went all of the proposed savings.
I almost went with Napleton because they were near my house and they had worked a lot with me before I was ready to purchase (I'm very short and would need pedal extenders to reach the JKU's pedals. Napleton let us attach the pedal extenders so I could do a test drive), but when I changed my mind from a WE to a non-WE 2017 JKU, they went from "match Koons' 6% off invoice" to "no discount off invoice." I also didn't like their "Options" (although I was prepared to negotiate to get rid of them) and their fees were high, even for FL.
So I bought through Fields in Sanford. My salesman is Steve "Smitty" Smith, and he was recommended on the boards and well as by some friends of mine who bought a Back Country earlier this year. It was less than 2 weeks before Xmas and I didn't want to deal with pre-holiday traffic so we did the entire negotiation via email and online. He's been pretty good with replies, but has occasionally needed some prodding (i.e. to give me my VON and VIN - which I get. He's a salesman, not a tracker) but from here on in my build is being tracked by Milous on JeepGarage.org so I don't really "need" Smitty to see what I'm up to.
I'm not done with the deal since I just ordered on 12/17/16 and JKUs in my color (Xtreme Purple) won't even start until 1/10/17. But so far, this has been my experience in trying to buy a Jeep in Central FL. I'll give updates as they happen.
