New to Central FL

Living in the Lake George area and looking for local jeep club to join. Also looking for a 4x4 shop in the area.

I'm burnt out with the whole club scene. Don't get me wrong, you get with the right guys and gals and it can be a blast. Most clubs have get togethers for things other than wheeling and it can be very fun.

But....invariably the politics kick in.

I'm a fan of individuals. I want to hang with people I like whether they like other people I like or not. Some clubs kind of frown of members hanging with those they don't care for or agree with.

That said, I hang with a group loosely based in DeLand called SOR (Screaming' Offroad). Definitely not a club, just a group that goes out wheeling and from time to hang out. No pressure, no chain of command, no membership.

I also hang out with members of Infinity Offroad. By and large, GREAT people! They've never met a party they didn't like. It's a big club so there is a potential for drama and hurt feelings at some point, but over all the folks are great.

As for shops, Wilson's in Holly Hill is top notch. Same with Jeeper's Den in Orlando.

If you're over on the Lake/Marion side, I don't have any suggestions.
