Offroading & Camping in Ocala National Forest

Planning a camping trip to ONF later in February with a few other guys. We all have Jeeps. Have never been there. Hear there are some good offroading trails for Jeeps. Would love any suggestions. Ideally, we'd also do some backcountry camping ("dispersed camping" as Ocala calls it) at a site accessible only via offroad trail. Any ideas? Thanks!

mdtampa,

Here is my report from last years spring break. https://www.wranglerforum.com/f71/rev...s-1647633.html

My favorite spots are north of Lake George on the west side of the St Johns and south of the Rodman Dam along the Oklawaha.

Pop across the River on the Fort Gates Ferry for lunch in Welaka or Crescent City.

Not at all clear from the ground where dispersed camping is but there are some primitive sites around including on the Oklawaha River accessible from the Davenport Landing trailhead.

Big, open and deep sand pits on the West end of the Rodman dam causeway look fun as well.

PM me if you like, I can provide more exact locations via email conveniently.
