air compressor

I always hear about people putting air compressors in their Jeeps to air their tires up and down. But where do you mount them? I'd like to have one, mostly for stupid stuff like soccer balls and bike tires. Can somebody post some pics and info? And yes I'll search. I just was thinking about this....

Usually under one of the seats or under hood. However, if youre just looking to use it to pump up balls and tires, just get a portable unit and throw the bag under the seat. No need to really mount it

I know there's no "need", but I just want to. I know it's stupid. I just think it's cool.

Get an ARB Twin Air compressor. They make mounts for the engine bay and under the passenger seat. Whichever you prefer. Lady passengers will enjoy the under-seat mount. You'll be blowing up giant beach balls like a boss!!

I wish I could find a good under hood mount for the JL, but there doesn't seem to be enough room. I have one in my current JK and love it.

btw - an ARB twin may be quite a bit overkill for soccer balls and bike tires, may literally "blow them up"

Yea, onboard compressors can be pretty pricey. They're normally used for activating air lockers, filling tires and even running small air tools... Beach balls can be inflated with much cheaper devices.

Not stupid at all, just concerned that you may (very quickly) overinflate and destroy something like a bike tire since those compressors are meant for big Jeep tires.

And yes - they are very cool

Note that I was straight-up quoting the OP from post #3.
