JL A Few Questions

I apologize if these questions are answered in other threads. I did look before I posted this.

1. What kind of deals are you getting on JL orders? Invoice - ?? anything?
2. Is there any chance we get diesel in the 2020s?
3. Has Jeep fixed the suspension bolts in the JL so we don't have the death wobble issues or are you still doing the bolt replacement bit?

TIA

We just bought our '19 JL in May, and the best I could find was $4750 off the 49K sticker in my area of North Carolina. Of course the left over 2018's are a better deal. It's my understand that a diesel is in the mix for the '20's. And yes the death wobble has been taken care of with the JL's. This is our first ever Jeep, and we are really enjoying the ride.

Thanks.

Back when I bought my 2014 JKURX I just found it on a lot. Then I learned that you can usually get invoice minus some % when you order a Jeep. Back then I thought it was like invoice minus 3-5%. So, has anyone ordered a 2019 or 2020 and got a good deal?

I ordered mine end of June. Sticker was $55. I got it for $48,600. I thought that was fair.

(edit. I should add that it's still stupid expensive. But that's what they are now. I thought I got a fair deal considering that most people think wranglers should still be half that price.)

People can "think" all they want....the market prices on anything popular are through the roof.
Especially trucks, big suv's, 4x4's of any kind.
$50k and up is the new normal.

* 10% off of sticker is a good deal IMO as far as deals go, whether that meets a budget is case by case.

Did any of you guys see TFL Youtube video on the JL Gladiator. They were saying Petersonjeep.com is giving 14% off MSRP.

I'm not in the market for another JL or Gladiator but that sounds like a spectacular deal.

Be alert.

Wayalife mentioned them also.
I got 14% off for my JK Sport from my local Ca dealer, no need to go to Idaho.

jadmt, do you have a phone or email for him. I have always had great luck with forum recommended Jeep people. I don't mind flying up to Caldwell to get a Jeep. My last one was outside of Albuquerque, NM.

Just a heads up. The diesel engine is not available in the Wranglers for 2020. Also, the E-boost V6 is limited to certain models. I am still working on ordering a Jeep.

I just got off the phone with a sales person at Dennis Dillon. Holy cow, they quote you serious discounts right over the phone even or Wrangler orders.

Unless a local deal will come near them in price it looks like I am buying a spud Jeep.

Thanks for the heads up.

Good luck finding a deal my man, a lot of dealers refuse to take anything off the price. But, if you look around online, you might be able to find something. I convinced my brother to hold out on buying a JL about 4 months ago, then when he got home from being "under way", he got a decent amount off an 18JLU.

Yes, death wobble has been fixed.

in socal, I know of a salesperson at a dealer that offered me ~4% off, and there's another out on the fringes of OC that has given a few people 5% off. Both cases assume you have something like tread lightly membership for the affiliate rewards discount.

Do they have a "Doc fee" or some other fee/fees that bring the price right back up again? My suggestion to anyone buying a new vehicle is deal in an out the door price. A Doc fee and/or other fees can very easily wipe out a so called good deal. Many people posting on message boards about how great a deal they got typically forget to add the Doc fee or other fees back into the price they supposedly got, making their deals sound better than they really were. Just a heads up, that's all.

That link goes nowhere. If it's supposed to be a link to Perterson Dodge Chrysler Jeep in Nampa, ID then the link is: https://www.petersonramjeep.com/

Thanks for clarifying.

Oh, I agree with you entirely. In California, the doc fee is legally limited to $85. They usually try to get you by selling you stupid add-ons here.

I don't expect that dealer to pull any stunts - the salesperson mentioned that the only fee they charged in addition to the price quoted was the doc fee. We'll see. If that fails, there's another dealer a couple hours away that has a slightly better deal. lol.

I pulled up the costco auto program. Walked in, handed the costco sheet to the sales guy after we picked a certain jeep, there was zero haggling, the price was put in front of us. I think it was like $1000 under invoice or whatever. All I know is we got a bit more than 10% off sticker without even having to talk about the price. Easy peasy. Done and done.

I call that an easy transaction. Assuming no surprises at delivery - success.

Yup, it was super easy. Us millennials, we don't like to haggle anyway.

Had their offer not been what I more or less expected, I guess I would have argued, but we walked in, they gave us exactly what I expected on our Challenger, the Costco price on the jeep was exactly what I expected, and we just signed from there.

This is only the second new car we've ever bought, but it was incredibly easy, smooth, no pressure or issues, and the price was right.

So, I guess what I'm getting at is if there are no special sales or deals going on, or if you don't want to travel for a deal, the costco program could be a good viable LOCAL option to get a price that is well below sticker.
