Mods are getting harder

Having done a bunch of mods on the old 2016 JKUR. Did a bumper and a winch install today on a JT which the front end is the same as a JL.

Holy crap they are cramming more into less space now. Everything was unbelievably tight. Did a
Smittybilt 77807 XRC Gen2 Front Bumper
Smittybilt 98510 X2O-10 Comp Gen2 Winch with Synthetic Line
and both were said to be JT compliant but it was a really tight squeeze.
What may have taken 5-6 hours on the JK took about twice the time and 10x swearing a blue streak.

The old bumper was maybe 60 lbs and the new was 137 lbs and the winch another 60 lbs so say 140 lbs extra on the front. The sag was only 5/8ths".
That's not bad I was expecting worse.

I've got the same bumper/winch setup on my JLUR. You're dead on regarding how tight a fit it is. I think I actually made up some new curse words getting mine on. I've got the Mopar lift, and still have a slight drop in the front from the extra weight, but not enough to bother me. Nice ride by the way.

Nice truck!

Speaking for the only JL mod I’ve done so far: where the JK grille was one piece of molded polyurethane with a strip of rubber across the top, the JL grille is made of 12 separate pieces.

It made painting the inserts a breeze, though —and kind of fun. It was like playing with LEGO, or building a Revell model.

The JL grille snaps into place better than it did on JK, too.

Some mods are easier, no more hot wiring lockers and ESP kill, just buy a Tazer (IMO the JK programmer options sucked). Less drilling and tapping for my LOD rock sliders. Backup camera standard and front camera easy add-on. I could go on, love my JL!
