Does anyone have experience with MyTop on a JL (2-dr)? I know the price tag is heavy for MyTop, but I believe it would give me a lot more air time with the top down if it were more convenient (8 seconds up/down). The rigidity of the JL window corners make them difficult to stow, so I tend to leave them at home which means I keep the top up more than I would like.

As an aside, I like the window slide concept and it does make it quick and easy to remove, but I recently had an issue with a side window coming loose on the highway. It didn't come off and fly away, but the top side came completely out of the groove. I hadn't taken my top off since last October so this wasn't an "operator error" thing. Also interested if others are experiencing something similar. It happened when I had the front windows down.

Any thoughts & opinions appreciated.

Secondhand MyTop owner here. I bought mine used on Facebook Marketplace and I can honestly say it was one of the best jeep related purchases I've made. Granted, mine is a very old TJ model, possibly an original run given the low SN on the label. I'm sure they've made some improvements since mine was produced; I actually think it's a completely different owner/company now.

Anyway, I can't really speak to the newer tops but the old one has been great and is holding up pretty well so far. Just check and see if someone is selling one used first, they depreciate like a BMW :thumb:

Well, if you buy it brand new (currently $3600 for the 2D JL) then you're actually looking at closer to $2500+ over a brand name traditional top. I definitely wouldn't have pulled the trigger had I not received a hefty "used" discount. I paid a little over $2k for mine and that was after about two months of deliberation.

Has it been worth it? In my case I'm going to say absolutely. In a region where even the nicest days can cough up a thunderstorm or two, it has been a game changer. I don't have to consider the weather at all when putting the top down. It literally is 8 seconds from top up/down and has completely maximized the number of days when I can enjoy top down. Even quickest trips to the store I can go top down now with zero hassle.

TL;DR If you have plenty of disposable income or can find one used, I say absolutely do it.

I have had two Mytops since February 2020 for my 2018 - 2 door jeep wrangler Willy. The second one had to replace the first one that broke in less than a year. The one I have now that is also less than a year needs constant maintenance every four months. Thus, I would avoid buying a MyTop, due to the quality sucks and continual maintenance cost. DO NOT BUY THIS PIECE OF SHIT PRODUCT.
