Ocean Blue vs Sting-Gray
About to order a 2-door Rubicon and have my options decided on except for the color. I'm down to Ocean Blue and Sting-Gray, very different ends of the spectrum when it comes to wild vs mild.
Does the sting-gray look relatively clean without constant washing? I'm thinking that the ocean blue will require a lot of washing to constantly not look dirty during the NE Ohio winters.
Post pics of your 2 doors in these colors to help me make my decision!

No pics but I own an Ocean Blue plus many other colors over the years. I'm in Texas and dirt shows after rains and wet streets. Not as bad as black or a dark blue I once owned. My personal experience has been brights colors such as white and yellow will look better than dark colors. I hard a dark gray Ford one time that showed dirt easily though black is just a pain to keep looking good. Sting-Gray will probably be only slightly better than Ocean Blue.
I originally wanted Sting-Gray but changed my mind after seeing the Ocean Blue on the lot with a tan soft-top.

Sting Gray is an impressive color... Ocean Blue is nice too, but I would choose Sting Gray every time. And this from someone that owns a blue and a yellow Jeep.
Color choices are 100% personal choice... Go down to the dealer and look at them, it's worth the trip.

I got lucky at one dealership that had both colors side by side and was still torn. Hearing that the difference keeping either color clean is only slightly better with the sting-gray actually helps some. Currently, I'm leaning towards ocean blue, but still have a few days to decide.

Ocean blue looks great in direct sunlight; otherwise looks too dark for my liking.
I say Stingray. It is easier to keep clean, should hide minor scratches and chips more easily, and shows the red outline on Rubicon badges and decals better than Ocean blue. It even looks surprisingly good in person.

what color will be more appealing 5 or 10 years down the road? I personally think grays/silvers will appeal to a wider audience. On the other hand get the one that makes you go dang that looks good every time you look at it.

I have sting gray and it does show dirt more than I thought. I bought it because there weren’t many that I had seen locally.

that is one of the best colors for sure. I still like bright white as the best all time color.

Think resale value. Rock Lobster Jeeps have the worst resale than all other colors

Years ago my dad and I went to look at a JKU Sahara in Bright White. He mumbled “all it needs is a red cross on the doors.”
That killed it for me... LOL

I can't imagine either color being worse than the other.
Personally, I'm a fan of blue and I don't get the fascination with those "flat" (lack of a better term) colors that other Jeepers clamor for. Sting-gray, Tank, Gobi, etc... Nothing wrong with them, just not my taste.
I'm a huge fan of metallic blue and own a Hydro Blue JKU and Deep Sapphire Blue 300M. My other half has a Jetset Blue Renegade. I wouldn't hesitate to get a JLU in Ocean Blue if I was serious about getting into one. I don't let winter around Detroit dictate what color I drive in the summer!

Ended up with sting gray on the order I placed today! Thanks everyone for the responses. Was able to get a good look at the 2 colors side by side again, and in the end, the ocean blue was too "wild" for my taste/personality.

What is the most popular car color for 2019?
Silver and white are still the most popular choice at 28 percent and 12 percent respectively. Black and medium dark blue round out the top five colors in this category. Fourteen percent of new cars are convertibles and coupes.Apr 4, 2019

On the way to dinner tonight, I saw a brand new JLUR GCM... fully loaded with LEDs..
It looked really nice, now I have that itch.

Sting gray looks really nice when it's clean. I'm wondering how a dirty one looks. My bikini seems to look fine even when it hasn't been washed in a while. Never liked that ocean blue. Doesn't look like a Jeep color to me. More like something on a Lexus or Audi.
