sounds like you need to take it in :) and get the front axle bracket checked. I think a bunch of track bar brackets ripped off.

Yikes!

from: https://www.carcomplaints.com/news/2020/2020-jeep-wranglers-recalled-to-replace-front-axles.shtml

"February 4, 2020 — More than 3,300 model year 2020 Jeep Wrangler SUVs are recalled because the lower control arms may separate from the axles. Fiat Chrysler (FCA) says faulty weld locations on the left side of the Wrangler is what can cause the separation.
The Wranglers were built between July 22, 2019, to October 26, 2019, but they were manufactured with front axle lower control arm brackets that may not have been in the correct locations during the welding process.
FCA opened an internal investigation in October 2019 after a dealer technician submitted a report. The automaker collected four front axles with left front lower control arm brackets which had separated on 2020 Wranglers.
The SUVs had been in for warranty repairs, causing Chrysler to send the parts to the supplier which determined all four axles had welds in the wrong locations.
The SUV could be difficult to control or the lower control arm bracket could hit the ground once the control arm separates from the axle. A driver should be aware of noise from the front-end or vibration in the steering.
More than 3,000 Wranglers are recalled in the U.S. and 347 are recalled in Canada.
According to the automaker, no crashes or injuries have been reported due to the axle problems.
Chrysler says the 2020 Jeep Wrangler front axle recall will begin March 14, 2020. Dealerships will inspect the front axles and replace them if needed.
Jeep Wrangler owners may contact Chrysler at 800-853-1403 and refer to recall number W01.
Canadian Jeep Wrangler customers should call 800-465-2001."

I just called the number in the recall notice and that department doesn't even have information on W01 yet - WTF! They stated that notices will begin going out March 20, but obviously some already are.

What really pisses me off is that My Jeep was manufactured in that window and I have a re-gear scheduled in a couple of weeks so now I have to push that out till I find out if my axle is OK or not.

btw - Here is a website for national recalls:

When was yours built? I'm curious if they mean that the bracket is off left to right or the height.

Mine was built in October so right at the end of the recall date so not sure if mine is affected or not.

Clearly no science here, but here is my left (drivers) control arm bracket with the tape at the pumpkin. Curious what others look like.

Don't bother to take it to a dealer yet. I went in today to get the free oil change and have them adjust my rear tailgate that was sticking. And they ask me why I hate dealers. They have no clue on this recall yet. The guy thought it was another one but then admitted he has no clue and they don't have any parts or schedule for repair. So, we are left to figure this one out ourselves at least a first.

The angle of the camera plays with the measurement so not sure how effective the tape measure is, but ours sure seem to be the same so I hope that's a good thing.

Crazy that you got a notice to take it to the dealer, but they don't have a clue when it's something as critical as this.

My Jeep only has about 1600 miles on it, which is why it's so clean. I did take it to Moab over Christmas, but I also always power wash the undercarriage.

On my JK I'd always spray exposed / scratched metal or surface rust with Rustoleum as well.

Will do. Sorry, I did not get a new pic for you before I left on a business trip. I get back on Wed and have some more work to do on the lift so I will try to get a good straight on pic. I ended up at the dealer again for a different issue and they still have no information.

rec'd same email. Went to dealer next day same deal, looked up recall and read through entire dealer notice and at the end it says dealers are to take no action on this recall at this time?? I called customer service and same response. Had no idea about recall, put me on hold. When she came back on she told me that she called other dealerships and they all told her the same thing, they are instructed to take no action. So we drive on awaiting the frontend to drop out.

Went by the dealer today to have them reattach my parking brake that I detached during install of the Mopar 2" lift. They noticed the recall and included it in their analysis. This is what they had to say about it right now:

2952 Recall repair procedure and possible parts not yet released

So, essentially a nothing burger as of today.

Thanks SteedGun.

I was at the dealer today for another reason and the service department had not even heard about this. I told them about it and they checked it out, only 4 Jeeps in CO were impacted and mine is not on the list.

Sorry your Jeep is impacted and hope they fix it for you quickly.

I went to a dealer today. Truth is, they don't have a clue if my weld is good or bad. They were instructed to take pictures of my weld on my left front LCA and send them back to FCA. The guy told me as we were walking to my Jeep that he thinks it is actually Dana looking at the welds as the site they were instructed to send the email to is a Dana site. I think I trust the Dana engineers more than the brilliant FCA folks that put the Jeep together.

One more heads up. When I put my steering stabilizer on my Jeep the nuts on the wheel side were NOT tight. You might want to check those.

No idea but I think it is sad they have to get all kinds of pics to see if they messed up. I would imagine someone lost a job over this mess. If anyone else ends up with a bad weld would you please post pics of it so others can see as well. The only reason I know about this was because I was proactive right up front. Can you imagine some poor Jeep owner sailing down the highway and the left LCA coming off? WOW!
