What is this dial for?

The dial on the right adjusts the dash lights and turns on the interior lights I can't figure out what the dial on the left does can't find it in the manual I'm sure it's there someplace

Pretty sure that's your dome light.

I know what it is for

If you look inside where the door handles are there is a small light that lights up the door handle pocket on the inside. That is the only thing that it dims on my jeep. Very hard to see, it has to be pretty dark. I found it when I was driving in the middle of nowhere Oklahoma on a dark night. It was driving me crazy not knowing what it was.

The left dial is for "Ambient Lighting".

The JL's Courtesy lights, illuminate the footwell's , dome light, etc. when a door is opened.

The Ambient lighting which is different, is in the footwell's, in the door handles and works...can be used and adjusted when the doors are closed.

Note: Courtesy Lighting uses different LED's then the Ambient Lighting.

Page 66 of my 2018 JLU owners manual describes the left rotary switch. Rotating the left dimmer control will adjust the interior and ambient light levels. I went out to my Jeep since it is dark. If the lights are on, the left rotary switch allows for adjusting the ambient light inside the door handle pocket on the door. That's it! Nothing else. Seems like a waste to me.

Mine doesn’t seem to do anything. Moved it in the complete dark.

No. I thought about checking with the dealer thinking maybe something was not hooked up from the factory

WoW ! Posts like this are why owners should read 'em. I've had my 2019 Wrangler for a year and NEVER noticed the referenced the front only door handle lights ! BTW ; dial also adjusts the so called "party lights" located in the foot wells. Look under the dash and you will see a small LED cube next to the larger courtesy light. As someone mentioned before , " ...I don't party in my Jeep." I agree with "cwmartin59" , …"waste of time." Jeep should of made them a different color and brighter if at all, just saying. T. J.

Well if you have a Rubi or Sahara they come with footwell ambient lights as well, so that dial controls them too........if you have them.
