I was shocked just how shitty the JK is built, I guess they assumed that most would replace those crap ass bumpers at some point, so they made them as shi&*( as they could.

The JK was overpriced for what you got, the JL just went FULL RETARD in that regard

In stock trim I'd say a Toyota Tacoma.

If you are into just off road, yes, but the four door with the bells and whistles makes a nice road vehicle that can still handle the off road situation.

Nothing againt a Tacoma, its a nice truck, but last I checked you couldn't take the doors or top off of a Tacoma. Just like a convertible car vs a non convertible, there is a price to pay for that.

And is a stock Tacoma anywhere near as capable as a stock Rubicon?

The Unimog has the off road ability of the JL but it's more like the JT. Costs a little more. Not sure about the highway ride.

My friend just brought home a JLUR for out the door price of 41k. It was the lowest content unit hey had in stock from a large CA dealer. Main thing missing was Nav. However it is a real Rubicon.

We have four dealers here within a 100 mile radius. My closest local dealership is owned by a couple of old fashioned guys who pack every JLUR to the gills with options....and there they sit.

I was given a ride in the new JLUR of 4 West. V6, Lifted, 37's, re geared with 4.88's. It rides better than mine ever will and the thing is FAST, really fast. I can see why people are going to the JL with that 8 speed trans.

Nope. A Tacoma isn't even as capable as a stock Sport.

Those are probably 2.0L models. I've never seen discounts that big on Wrangler in my lifetime.

They are now down to 32 since I posted that, 26 of them have the 2.0L

Because 99 out of 100 potential buyers don't know or give a crap what motors in it. They're all under warranty and have been extensively tested. Some 6 cyl owners just can't handle it.

There's several JLUR's on the Koons website right now between 42k-50. The 42K rig comes with an AT, hard top and the 4 cyl turbo. The next one up is 43K and that one is auto too, soft top, premium sound and cold weather groups. This one has the V6.

How much is an Uber to VA from NJ?

That's why you buy one that is several years old, still stock and has not been abused. You then upgrade it, and go out and massacre it in the mud and rocks.

I paid $28.5K for my new 2014 Willys JKU off of a lot. Of course it took me 4 months to find exactly what I was looking for. I knew in advance I would be replacing the axles and tcase so I didnít want an expensive Rubicon.

If one take the time, there are very good deals on JL out there, the price between JK and JL is not as big as some people believe.

This search took me less than a minute:

The huge price jump is still there, almost $4,500 MSRP increase from a JKUR to JLUR, but

It doesn’t seem like a big price jump anymore because the stagnant inventory is forcing huge discounts plus factory incentives for the first time.

So then it's not a huge price jump as he noted is it. The pricing excuses are becoming hard to justify now aren't they?

Sounds like someone's trying to justify an impulse buy. JL pricing is insane for what you get.

Actually the even the JK was pretty expensive for what you get. Itís crazy to me that you can buy a new vehicle for over $30k and it not even have power windows and locks.

No one can deny that a Wrangler sells at a premium.

I thought it was insane when the MSRP totaled over $35K on my decked out, 2-door Sahara in early 2013.

Only way I can get what I consider to be an equivalent JL (leather, body color top and fenders and other toys) 2-door forces me to a Rubi, which skyrockets to $52K with ease.

I CAN afford it, but that doesn't mean that I WILL. So long Jeep, I have other interests.....hope Ford is paying attention in pricing the upcoming Bronco.
